Abagaile Kimbrell Closes Stellar 2019 Cross-Country Campaign at NCAA D2 National Championships

Junior Abagaile Kimbrell represented the St. Thomas Aquinas College Cross-Country program on Saturday afternoon, when she competed at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Sacramento, California. 

Kimbrell, who qualified to run in the National Championships by virtue of her 10th place overall ranking at the East Regional Championship back on November 9th, ran along side 260 other Division II individual and team qualifying female competitors in a 6K (6,000 meters) race. On the day, the junior from Monroe, NY finished in a time of 22:59.2.

Abagaile had a most impressive fall campaign, finishing in the top 5 in five of seven events competed in, with a first place finish at the St. Joseph's College Golden Eagle Invitational on October 12th. As a result of her outstanding season, Kimbrell was chosen as a USTFCCCA All-East Region Honoree back on November 11th, to go along with her ECC All-Conference First Team selection from back on October 26th. In regular season action, Abagaile earned ECC Women's Cross-Country Runner of the Week accolades on four seperate occasions (September 9 & 16, October 7 & 15).
