Luis Risquez, Emmanuel Mena Jimenez, Syrita Faraj and Zoe Merryman were named the Spartan Athletes of the Month for December.

Zoe Merryman opened the new season with a pair of top-15 finishes in the Mile, first placing third with a time of 5:31.60 at The College of New Jersey Winter Opener. The very next week, the sophomore from Mahwah, N.J. earned a 15th place finish, clocking in at 5:28.91, at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout.
