Shaun Arnold, Nicholas Delia, Karolina Jaruseviciute and Nicole Gysin were named the Spartan Athletes of the Month for January.

Nicole Gysin opened the new year with three top-10 finishes, placing third in both the High Jump (1.50m/4'11") and Triple Jump (10.43m/34'2.75") events and eighth in the 60 Meter Hurdles (9.98) at the Wagner College Invitational. She then followed with a tenth place finish in the High Jump (1.50m/4'11") at the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartan Invitational.
The graduate student hurdler/jumper from Waldwick, N.J. closed out January with a stellar fifth place finish in the Pentathlon, racking up 2,473 points at the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights Open. In the five-event competition, Gysin placed sixth in the 60 Meter Hurdles (9.83), third in the High Jump (1.49m/4'10.5"), eighth in the Shot Put (7.75m/25'5.25"), sixth in the Long Jump (4.45m/14'7.25") and sixth in the 800 Meter Run (3:05.06).
