STAC Men's Tennis Ranked #2, Women's Tennis #4 in Latest NCAA D2 Polls

On Wednesday, the NCAA released the latest Men's and Women's Division II Regional polls, with both St. Thomas Aquinas College Tennis teams holding spots among the top five and seven programs, respectively in the East.

On the men's side, the Spartans remain in the No. 2 position in this week's rankings with an overall record of 16-6. STAC holds regular season victories over West Chester, Chestnut Hill, Lafayette, Manhattanville, Assumption, Yeshiva, Hampton, Niagara, Daemen (x2), Vassar, Jefferson, District of Columbia (x3) and Adelphi. The team's only regular season setbacks come via Fairleigh Dickinson, North Carolina Central, Fairfield, Queens (x2) and the Knights once again in the ECC Championship match.

Meanwhile for the women, the No. 35 ITA-ranked Spartans continue to sit the No. 4 spot in this week's poll and hold a 13-5 overall record with regular season victories over Molloy, D'Youville, Daemen, West Chester, District of Columbia (x2), Post, Minnesota State - Moorhead, Winona State, SUNY New Paltz, Wilmington, Jefferson and Adelphi. The team's only blemishes come via regular season setbacks to Queens, Hampton, North Dakota, New Haven and Queens in the ECC Championship match.

Regional selections will be announced on May 5, with matches taking place for men's teams on May 9 & 10 and women's squads on May 12 & 13. Winners of each regional will head to Altamonte Springs, Florida and Sanlando Park for the Division II Championships, which will be held May 20-24 (Men) and May 21-25 (Women).
