St. Thomas Aquinas baseball player, Mike Aviles has decided to sign with the Seattle Mariners and reported to camp on Sunday.  The junior pitcher was selected in the 42nd round of the 2010 MLB Draft.  As a Spartan, Aviles has worked 170 innings, struck out 114 batters, and compiled 13 wins.

Aviles received the standard one-year rookie contract, with the Mariners agreeing to a $15,000 signing bonus and an additional $32,000 to go toward his final year of college. If he's released at any point, he has 10 years to use the college money.
