The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team beat C.W. Post, 14-6. Christian Santo went 5-for-5 for the Spartans with 2 runs and 3 RBI. The freshman had 4 singles and 1 double for a record outing for a STAC rookie. Joe Ferrara went 6 innings, yielding 1 run.
The Spartans had a strong 3rd inning putting up four runs including a 2 RBI single from Santo. Vin Malzahn and Fred Moore each added a RBI single. STAC added two more runs in the 4th inning, including a RBI single from Joe Antenucci to make the score, 6-1.
The Spartans kept the scoring going as they added 5 more runs in the 5th. Frank Salerno hit a RBI double to get the scoring started. Antenucci added a 2 RBI single and Morre added another RBI single. Antenucci went 2-for-6 with 3 RBI while Moore was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI.
Malzahn went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI, including a RBI double in the 7th. Santo added a RBI double in the 7th to drive home the Spartans final run.
The Spartans will play C.W. Post on Saturday for a home double header being played at Dutchess County Stadium.
