    St. Thomas Aquinas baseball graduate, Andrew Hancsak hit a 3-run home run in his first professional at bat to tie the game up, 3-3. The former Spartan, class of 2012, plays for the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League.
  • Russo Named to Daktronics All American 3rd Team, Marotta & Salerno Earn Honorable Mention

    St. Thomas Aquinas baseball player Mike Russo was named to the Daktronics All American 3rd Team while Matt Marotta and Frank Salerno earned honorable mention recognition.  All three were named to the Daktronics All East Region Team as well as 1st team All Conference.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team have four players named to the 1st team Daktronics All East Region team and two players named to the second team. Joe Antenucci, Matt Marotta, Mike Russo and Frank Salerno earned 1st team recognition while Stanley Susana and George Wargo were named to the 2nd team.

    St. Thomas Aquinas baseball players, Matt Marotta, Frank Salerno and Stanley Susana were named to the NCWBA 1st team All-East Region Team.  The trio won the ECC major awards; Marotta, pitcher of the year, Salerno, player of the year and Susana, rookie of the year. Head Coach, Scott Muscat earned Coach of the Year recognition and Mike Russo was named to the 2nd team.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Baseball team swept the ECC All Conference major awards; with Frank Salerno being named the ECC Player of the Year, Senior Matt Marotta was named the ECC Pitcher of the Year, Freshman Stanley Susana was the ECC Rookie of the Year and head coach Scott Muscat was the ECC Coach of the Year.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team is hosting the ECC Baseball Championship at Provident Bank Park, Thursday May 10th and Friday, May 11th. The Championship game(s) will be played at St. John's University on Saturday. The Spartans clinched the regular season title and the #1 seed in the double elimination tournament.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team finished an outstanding regular season with an overall record of 33-16 after splitting a twin-bill with Queens College, losing the opener, 11-1, and rebounding in the nightcap for a 12-1 win. STAC will host the East Coast Conference Tournament beginning Thursday at Provident Bank Park.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team prevailed at Mercy College, 10-3, to increase it's team-record win total to 30. Mike Russo went 4-for-4 with a home run, as the Spartans also retained a share of first place in the East Coast Conference.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Baseball team swept a twin bill over Mercy College, 11-0 and 6-4 at Provident Bank Park. In doing so, they established a new mark with their 29th victory, topping the 28 set in the 2008 season while retaining a share of first place in the conference.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team carried a lead into the final inning but was unable to hold it as Felician College rallied for a 6-5 win. Starter Tim Tedesco worked seven solid innings but took the No Decision for the Spartans.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team is ranked #4 in the first NCAA Division II East Region poll of the season, released on Wednesday, April 25. The Spartans are the only ranked team from the East Coast Conference.

  • Stanley Susana Named ECC Player of the Week

    St. Thomas Aquinas baseball player, Stanley Susana was named the ECC Player of the Week after the Spartans 3-1 week last week. Susana batted .571 with 8 hits in 14 at bats. The freshmen had two RBI, one run and three stolen bases. Susana went 3-for-4 with an RBI at Dowling this week, followed by another three hit day in STAC’s 9-2 win at Bridgeport.

    Pitching was the key as the St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team earned a sweep over the University of Bridgeport by identical 3-2 scores. Eric Cooper and Nick May took home wins and Joe DePool picked up a pair of saves as STAC won all five season meetings, including four in East Coast Conference play.

    St. Thomas Aquinas baseball player Stanley Susana was named the ECC Rookie of the Week after the Spartans 2-2 week. Susana went 9-for-16 (.562) with 9 RBI and 3 runs, hitting safely in all four games for the week. The rookie had 3 triples a home run, a double and 1 stolen base.
  • No-Hit Bid Foiled in 9th, Spartans Prevail over Caldwell, 7-1

    Three St. Thomas Aquinas College pitchers combined to allow no hits over 8.1 innings as the Spartans downed Caldwell College, 7-1, at Provident Bank Park. Nick May threw six no-hit innings to earn the win, and Mike Russo's long two-run homer put his team ahead to stay.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team built a 10-0 lead at CW Post, only to see the hosts rally late for an 11-10 decision. Post's win prevented STAC from completing a three-game sweep of the series that started Saturday.
