The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team was well represented in the East Coast Conference post-season awards, which were announced Thursday. In balloting done by the conference coaches, Kostolos was the consensus pick as the top pitcher in the ECC, finishing the regular season with a steallar 7-0 record and a 1.43 ERA in 12 appearances.

After leading the Spartans to a 35-13 record and a #22 national rank in the NCBWA poll, Muscat was named Co-Coach of the Year, the fourth time he has earned that conference honor. Coach Muscat was tied in the balloting with Dowling's Tom Caputo, who piloted his squad to the #2 seed in this season's tournament.

In addition to Kostolos, All-Conference First Team honorees included Brandon Fischer, Greg Dawber, and George Navadel. Fischer, in just half a season, has had a major impact on the Spartan offense, and earned the nod at the second base slot. Dawber took utility position honors, splitting his playing time between the infield and outfield. Navadel has been a force in the closer role with a school record 12 saves this season, among the best in the nation.

Second Team honors were bestowed upon Joseph Pena and Giovanni Dingcong. Both sophomores, Pena earned shortstop recogniation as a staple at the top of the STAC lineup, while Dingcong patrolled right field and provided the power in the middle of the order.

Molloy's Angelo Navetta was named the Conference Player of the Year, while Dowling's Chris Cepeda rounded out the other major award winners with Rookie of the Year kudos. Click Here for the full ECC Post-Season Awards release.
