STAC Baseball Assistant Coach Del Rosario, Former Spartan Susana Named to Dominican Republic National Team

Current St. Thomas Aquinas College Assistant Coach Manny Del Rosario and former Spartan Stanley Susana have each been named to the Dominican Republic National Team. The team, currently visiting the United States and Canada, is playing an 18-game schedule against members of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball (Can-Am League).

Del Rosario, who will serve as the team's Manager, just concluded his 14th season with St. Thomas Aquinas, where he has been a part of five ECC Regular Season (2008, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018), four Tournament Championships (2013, 2014, 2015, 2018) and six consecutive NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament appearances (2013-2018). His professional baseball career began in the 1980s, where he played in both the San Diego Padres' and Texas Rangers' minor league organizations as a middle infielder. He has also managed in the Spanish League Federation, where he coached Manny Ramirez for one season. Manny is known for his great rapport with the players and his ability to teach some of the finer subtleties of playing infield. Del Rosario works full-time for JetBlue and along with his wife and two children, resides in Washington Heights, NY.

Susana joins the team as an infielder and was a member of the STAC Baseball team from 2011 to 2015, posted a .332 batting average with 9 home runs, 164 RBIs and 161 runs scored in 208 career games played. Stanley also tallied 44 doubles, 23 triples and 58 stolen bases, while helping his fellow Spartan teammates capture two ECC Regular Season (2012, 2013) and three Tournament Championships (2013, 2014, 2015). He was also a member of three NCAA East Regional Tournament appearances in 2013, 2014, 2015), one of which the college's first-ever East Region Championship (2014), and assisted in leading St. Thomas Aquinas to the 2014 Division II World Series in Cary, North Carolina.

Stanley's awards and honors were numerous during his 4-year tenure with the Spartans, as he was named the ECC Rookie of the Year in 2012 and Player of the Year in 2015, along with All-Conference honors in each of his four years. The East Coast Conference also selected him on three occasions as their Player of the Week and twice and their Rookie of the Week. In addition, Susana collected All-East Region accolades in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
