The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team fell to an 11-2 defeat at the hands of Bloomsburg University at Palisades Credit Union Park. The Spartans now stand at 11-9 overall on the season, with Bloomsburg improving to 18-8.

Though the start was delayed by rain, Bloomsburg's offense arrived right on time, posting four runs in the top of the first, keyed by a three-run homer by Andrew Holmes. The Huskies tacked on solo runs in each inning from the third through the sixth to open an 8-0 cushion, while starter Jared Marshman held STAC to just one hit while facing the minimum amount of batters through five innings.

Andrew Jemison got the hosts on the board with an RBI double in the home sixth, and the Spartans looked to rally in the seventh as Kyle Lagrutta's infield hit brought in a run and STAC loaded the bases with one out but were unable to capitalize further on the opportunity. From there, the Huskies put the contest away by adding three more in the top of the ninth.

Brian Donnelly had a strong night at the plate, rapping out three hits and scoring a run, while Justin Bayens started and took the loss for St. Thomas Aquinas. Marshman earned the win for Bloomsburg, which rapped out 16 hits in earning the convincing victory.

The Spartans return to East Coast Conference action this weekend, playing their first-ever conference series against Lincoln. STAC will host all four contests, slated for single games on Friday and Sunday with a double-header on Saturday, all at Palisades Credit Union Park.
