Spartan Baseball Alum Sean Marsiglia Gives Back to Tampa Bay Community during Coronavirus Pandemic

With many businesses struggling to make ends meet amid the on-going Coronavirus health emergency in the United States, restaurants and other food service establishments are stepping to the plate and showing their support for their local communities through free meals to school kids, first responders and healthcare workers.

Three Brothers Pizza, a local eatery in Tampa Bay, Florida, and which is owned by former St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball athlete Sean Marsiglia (2010-2011), has risen to the occasion and is lending a helping hand to the residents of Tampa. Giving back to the community is nothing new for Marsiglia and his team, but their generosity and call to action is receiving extra special attention during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When schools were suddenly shuttered across Florida, Three Brothers started offering free slices of pizza to kids, making sure that those who may have relied on daily school meals had a source of food. When grocery stores and big box chains started to run out necessary supplies like toilet paper, Marsiglia decided to sell what he had remaining in stock to the public. Citizens from across the country called to buy pizza for others and Three Brothers gladly filled every order. Now the team is delivering their great food to first responders, law enforcement and healthcare workers.

"We love it. My brothers and I are blown away at the feedback from the customers," Marsiglia said. "That's what we're here for and we're here to take care of our community just as much as they take care of us."

Marsiglia and his staff are now also working with Keys to Kindness, a local non-profit, to help the community during this national crisis.
