Spartans' Bats Stay Hot in Doubleheader Sweep of Adelphi

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team remained undefeated on the early season, as the Spartans swept their Saturday afternoon doubleheader against Adelphi University by the scores of 9-2 in game one and 12-3 in game two at William J. Bonomo Memorial Field in Garden City, NY.

Freshman Sean Lynch led the Spartan hit barrage with 4 hits, including a double, 4 RBI and a run scored on the day. Anthony Maisano, James Versage, Danny Di Marzo and Joseph Scamardella each picked up 3 hits, with Versage posting 4 RBI, Christopher Conti 3 RBI and Anthony Gonzalez 3 RBI.

STAC pitchers Alex Mack and Will Kindl both picked wins on the mound. Mack allowed 4 hits, 2 runs (2 earned), 2 walks and 8 strikeouts in 6.0 innings in Game 1. In game 2, Kindl surrendered 2 hits and 2 runs (2 earned) over 4.0 innings, while walking 4 and fanning 5.
