The St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team's 2021 season came to an end, as Goldey-Beacom took a 2-1 decision on Saturday night in the NCAA East Regional Tournament at Franklin Pierce University. STAC wraps up their year with a 26-7 overall record, while Goldey-Beacom continues on in the tournament and improves to 22-8 on the season.

How it Happened

• Goldey-Beacom took an early 2-0 lead on the strength of a Garrett Musey two-run homer to right center field. Teammate Mason Maxwell and Musey came around to score.
• STAC got within one run on a Greg DiGiaro single to left field, scoring James Versage. On the same play DiGiaro and Danny Di Marzo advanced to second and third base, respectively on a throwing error by the left fielder.

Top Performances

• Greg DiGiaro drove in one run and tallied a hit.
• Billy Minett went 2-for-3, also drawing a walk.
• Matt Johnson had two hits in four at-bats. 
• Starting pitcher Aaron Dona threw six outstanding innings, giving up five hits and two runs, while walking one and striking out 11. Dona was tagged with the hard-luck loss (3-1) in the contest.
• TJ Gregory and Justin Baeyens combined to throw two innings in relief, with Gregory hurling one inning, surrendering only a walk and K'ing two. Baeyens pitched the eighth, fanning two Lightning batters.

• The Spartans posted 1 run on 5 hits, while Goldey-Beacom earned 2 runs on 5 hits.
