Spartan eSports Battles Lehigh Valley College in First-Ever Match This Friday

The St. Thomas Aquinas College eSports team will compete in their inaugural match this Friday, April 20th at 6pm. STAC will take on Lehigh Valley College in a League of Legends exhibition, marking the first time that the Spartans will face organized competition. The match will be broadcast LIVE via the St. Thomas Aquinas College Twitch account (details and links to follow).

Next year, St. Thomas Aquinas will compete in the East Coast Conference as part of Riot Games' Collegiate League of Legends. The participating schools from the ECC will play a round robin regular season, followed by a Conference Tournament. The ECC Tournament Champion and Runner-up will advance to the a play-in round, where the winner automatically advances to the College League of Legends Championships, which will be played LIVE, with travel and hotel expenses covered by Riot Games.
 
The Spartans are also members of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), and are building their team through the recruiting of current and prospective students. All interested players should contact eSports Director, Kevin Roth at kroth@stac.edu.
