Esports Picks Up More Victories in Week 2 of Competition

In their second weekend of action, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Esports team picked up a couple more wins, as they continue on in their inaugural season of competition.

The CSL League of Legends Preseason continued, and the Spartans were up against Queens University (NC) and came away with their first-ever LOL victory, taking this one from Queens by a 2-0 margin.

In CSL Fortnite regular season, all three Spartan duos were in action. STAC fell in their first two matches with losses at the hands of both Rochester Institute of Technology (2-0) and Stony Brook University (2-0). Their lone win this week came in a 2-0 victory against SUNY Canton, where Kian Bachinsky and Alex Ordonez improved their season record to a perfect 2-0.

Additional action featured the STAC Fortnite duo of Kyle Reinhardt and Carlton Thomas, as they entered into a CSL Qualifier Tournament and made it all the way to the Round of 16 before falling to California State University, Long Beach, in a tight matchup. Along the way they took victories against University of British Columbia (2-1), Missouri Baptist University (2-0), and Belmont University (2-1).

The Spartans are back in action this weekend with a full slate of Fortnite matches, as they take on Rutgers University, Stony Brook University, and SUNY Canton. The League of Legends teams are off for their bye week.
