Spartan ESports Opens Inaugural Season Saturday
The St. Thomas Aquinas College Esports team continues to gear up for their first full year of competition. The Spartans will be getting their fall schedule underway this Saturday, October 13 when they compete in the Collegiate Starleague (CSL), in both League of Legends and Fortnite.

On October 13th, STAC will field three Fortnite duos, who will take on the likes of SUNY Canton and Rochester Institute of Technology, beginning at 3pm. The League of Legends squad will also be competing against Daemen College at 1pm, as they begin their College League of Legends preseason. The preseason matches will help the Spartans prepare for the East Coast Conference's Regular Season of Riot's College League of Legends competition in the spring. It was announced last month that a first-ever ECC Champion in ESports will be crowned on Saturday, March 30 at NYIT's Manhattan campus.

Director of Esports Kevin Roth, said, "We are really excited to officially get some matches under our belt as we continue to build the Spartan Esports program from the ground up. The League of Legends preseason will give our team a great opportunity to continue to work on their communication and teamwork skills, while the Fortnite competition will see our gamers compete in what is undoubtedly the fastest growing game in the past year."

Saturday's action will be broadcast LIVE on Twitch.
