Sparkill, N.Y. - The Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) announced its 2024 all conference and major award winners on Monday, highlighted by five student-athletes taking home major awards for the recently completed season. The nominating and voting for the awards was conducted by the league's nine head coaches in the sport.
Seven St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football players were selected for All-Conference accolades. Harrison Gudzik, JoJo Miranda and Ethan Hence were named to the All-Second First Team, while Spartans Ryan Kenny, Jayden Bennermon, Nyir Jones and Esmond Oldums each received honorable mention status by the league.
STAC posted a 1-6 (1-3 CSFL North) record during the 2024-2025 campaign.
CSFL All-Conference Second-Team Offense
Harrison Gudzik (Sr./Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) - Kick Returner
- Gudzik returned nine kicks for 230 total yards, while averaging 25.6 yards per return. His longest return was a 67-yarder for a touchdown against Molloy University.
CSFL All-Conference Second-Team Defense
JoJo Miranda (So./Bethpage, N.Y.) - Linebacker
- Miranda was second on the team in total tackles with 52 (32 solo & 20 assisted), while also bringing down opponents 5.5 times for losses totaling 13 yards. In addition, he forced a fumble, grabbed an interception and blocked a kick in his seven games played.
Ethan Hence (Jr./Houston, Texas) - Defensive Back
- Hence led the maroon and gold in total tackles with 58 (32 solo & 26 assisted), while also dropping opponents 4.5 times for losses totaling 20 yards. Additionally, he picked up a sack, recovered a fumble and broke up three passes over seven games.
CSFL All-Conference Honorable Mention Offense
Ryan Kenny (Sr./Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Quarterback
- Kenny completed 112 of 193 passes (58.0% completion percentage), while racking up 1,213 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in seven games for STAC. He also recorded 72.3 passer rating. The senior quarterback also ran the ball 65 times for 43 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Jayden Bennermon (Sr./Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) - Wide Receiver
- Bennermon posted 26 receptions for 323 yards over seven games. The senior wideout led the Spartans with eight TD catches through the air and also had 28 rushing yards on two attempts.
Nyir Jones (So./Camden, N.J.) - Wide Receiver
- Jones grabbed 24 passes for 360 yards and one score in seven games played. The sophomore receiver also tallied 156 yards on 10 kick returns for the maroon and gold.
CSFL All-Conference Honorable Mention Defense
Esmond Oldums (Sr./Bellport, N.Y.) - Linebacker
- Oldums placed third on the squad with 35 total tackles (23 solo, 12 assisted), while making 5.5 stops for losses totaling 24 yards. The senior linebacker also recorded a sack and a pick in seven games on the gridiron.
