Conshohocken, Pa. - Leading 14-7 at halftime, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football team was outscored 34-8 in second half action by Chestnut Hill College, as the host Griffins took a 41-22 victory over the Spartans on Saturday evening at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium.
STAC drops to 1-5 overall, while Chestnut Hill improves to 4-2 on the year.
STAC HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Nyir Jones led the Spartans offense with 10 receptions totaling 187 yards. Jones' longest catch went for 67 yards and a touchdown.
- Jayden Bennermon and Davion Hicks also had scores in the game for the maroon and gold, with Bennermon's coming via a 20-yard strike from Tynez Harp and Hicks' coming on a 2-yard rushing attempt.
- Starting quarterback Ryan Kenny completed 14-of-23 passes, for 184 yards and a touchdown. QB Tynez Harp also saw time under center, going 7-of-10 for 71 yards with a TD and an interception.
- Ethan Hence registered 14 total tackles (12 solo, 2 assist), with one going for a loss.
- Dylan Honan forced a fumble during the game, while Jayden Bennermon picked off Griffins QB Anthony Cancellare.
