Spartan Field Hockey Opens Inaugural Season

The St. Thomas Aquinas field hockey team began its inaugural season in New Hampshire this weekend, undere the helm of head coach Laurie Mayernick.  STAC took on St. Anselm's College on Saturday, dropping a 9-0 game.  The Spartans played Southern New Hampshire on Sunday, falling 6-0.  

In their season opener, Kaitlyn Gee had three saves while Nicole Amerling added one.  The Spartans had only one shot on goal against the Hawks.  In their second outing, the Spartans had a more balanced attack with seven shots on goal against the Penmen.  Gee had 15 saves for STAC.

The Spartans will travel to Manhattanville College on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. start.  There will be live video and live stats for tomorrows game.
