Late Goal Lifts Ramapo to 1-0 Victory

The St. Thomas Aquinas field hockey team dropped a hard fought game, 1-0 in overtime to Ramapo College.  The Spartans played a solid defensive game through regulation but fell short after Gianna Mouskourie scored at the 70:48 mark.

Despite having more shot attempts, 15-3 and 9-3 on goal, the Spartans could not connect.  Ramapo's Mouskourie scored from 12 yards out off an assist from Nicole Healy, less then a minute into the extra session.

Kaitlyn Gee recorded two saves for the Spartans but picked up the loss in goal.  Emily Wisneski came up big in the game for the Roadrunners, recording nine saves including three in the first half and six in the second half. STAC led both teams in penalty corners with sixteen while Ramapo tallied four.

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host Assumption College at noon.
