The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's field hockey team lost to Manhattanville College, 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon.  Kaitlyn Gutenberger scored off an assist by Sarah Quarto.  Kaitlyn Gee had four saves for the Spartans. 

Manhattanville's Bregie Smits scored the first goal of the game to give the Valiants a 1-0 lead.  The senior struck again later in the first half to score what ended up being the game winning goal.  The Spartans wasted no time leveling the score however, tying the game at 1-1 less than five minutes later on Kaitlyn Gutenberger's first goal of the season.

Gutenberger's goal came at the 24:25 mark.  The Valiants held a 6-2 shots on goal advantage.  The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host Molloy at noon.
