The St. Thomas Aquinas women's field hockey team lost to Southern New Hampshire University 8-2 on Monday afternoon. The Spartans scored their first two goals of the 2017 season; the first coming from Taylor Hickey and the second from Alexandra Vippolis.
STAC received its first goal from Hickey off an assist from Carley Davin with a little over twenty minutes left in the game. Vippolis added the final goal of the game with seven minutes remaining on the clock. The visitors took a 3-0 lead into the half before tallying four more second half goals in route to a shutout. However, the Spartans continued to attack scoring two of the last three goals of the game.
SNHU held a 21-3 shots on goal advantage along with 20-3 on penalty corners. Spartan goalie Suzanne Clarke had 13 saves in goal. The Spartans will travel to Ramapo on Thursday for a 4:00 p.m. game.
