Spartans Drop Tough 6-1 Road Decision At Saint Anselm

The St. Thomas Aquinas Field Hockey team lost to Saint Anselm College, 6-1 on Sunday afternoon. Lotte Strijbos scored the lone goal for the Spartans, her second of the season, off an assist from Briannah Thorne.

Saint Anselm had four different goal scorers in the match, with Abby Walker picking up a hat trick, while Kaeleigh Lord, Hannah Potter and Maddie Bressler accounted for the remaining Hawks goals. The home squad held advantages in shots, 25-3 and penalty corners, 20-1. 

Suzanne Clarke recorded 6 saves for STAC, before turning things over to teammate Jessie Hohenstein for the final twenty six minutes. Hohenstein picked up 2 saves in relief.

The Spartans will return to action on Wednesday, October 10 when St. Thomas Aquinas makes the short trip across the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge to Dobbs Ferry, as they take on Mercy College at 3pm.
