Field Hockey Shutout at Assumption, 2-0

Worcester, Mass. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Field Hockey team suffered a 2-0 shutout loss to Assumption University on Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly Stadium.

STAC falls to 3-13 overall and 3-8 in the NE10, while Assumption improves to 12-4 and 11-0.

Assumption outshot St. Thomas Aquinas 22-2, with the hosts ahead 8-2 in shots on goal. May Van Woudenberg tallied a pair of goals for the Greyhounds in the match.

Nicola Van Vuuren and Olivia Cerbo led the limited STAC offensive opportunities, tallying recording a shot each, with both going on goal. Assumption goalie Paige Gillette (W, 11-4) turned away both shots faced to pick up her 11th win in 15 decisions. 

Carlijn De Groot (L, 2-9) got the start in the cage for the Spartans stopped 6 of 8 shots faced on the day.
