
Manchester, N.H. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Field Hockey team's 2024 season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, as Southern New Hampshire University overpowered the maroon and gold at Larkin Field, 11-0.
STAC finishes its season at 4-14 overall and 3-10 in NE10 action, while SNHU improves to 15-2 and 12-1.
Anne Wiersma recorded a hat-trick for So. New Hampshire, while teammates Minke van de Poll, Amelia Crocombie and Annemartine Christis tallied a pair of goals apiece. Natalie Paradzick and Eliza Bates also added to the Penmen totals on the scoreboard with a goal each.
In the cage, Emma Peeters (W, 15-2) got the start for the Penmen and turned away both shots that she faced over 60 minutes. Madeline Schaefer (L, 3-8) start in net for the Spartans and made 9 stops on 16 shots, before being spelled by Ailsa Ogilvie, who made 3 saves on 7 shots in the final 22 minutes of action.
