The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Golf Team finished 3rd amongst sixteen other schools that participated in the Dowling College September Shootout. The tournament was played at Long Island National in Riverhead, NY. STAC posted a team score of 306 the first round and 311 the second day to give them a total round of 617.
STAC was led by Chris Fitzpatrick (77, 75) who finished with a two day score of 152, which was six strokes behind the leader. Patrick Schwarze finished two strokes behind Fitzpatrick with a total score of 154 (75, 79). John Casey (76, 80), Brian Viola (81, 77) and Sean Campbell (78, 81) rounded out the Spartan scorers.
At the end of the first round STAC was in fourth place behind Dominican and despite the windy conditions during the second round they were able to pull past them for the third place finish. Adelphi University finished in the lead with a two round total of 595.
