The Spartans who are coming off a strong 2007-2008 season in which they advanced to the NCAA regionals are off to a good start in their first two tournaments of the fall.  STAC finished third out of twenty schools in the ECAC Championship held at Long Island National Golf Club in Riverhead, NY.  STAC was led by Brian Viola who tied for first place with a two-day total of 143 (+1).

Viola a senior out of Poughkeepsie, NY shot the lowest round in the field with a 68 on day one along with Dominican College's Andrew Lee.  Both Viola and Lee came back with a round of 75 in day two resulting in a playoff in which Lee won.

Senior Patrick Schwarze, who finished fourth in the field, was five strokes behind the leaders after the opening day and finished with a total score of 149 (73, 76).  Freshmen John Casey finished in the top half of the field of one hundred golfers while Junior Sean Campbell rounded out the STAC scorers.
