The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team battled heavy fog, and steady rain during the first round of the Goldey-Beacom spring invitational shooting a tournament leading 300. The Spartans were led by junior Chris Fitzpatrick who shot a tournament low 70 (even par).

Sophomore Mike Gunderson posted a solid round of 74 while freshman Nick Delango carded a 76. Rounding out the scoring was senior Sean Campell who struggled shooting 80.  Weather permitting, the Spartans will tee off at 10:00 am looking for their 2nd victory of the spring.
