The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's golf team finished sixteenth among a talented eighteen-team field at the 2009 NCAA Division II Preview. The teams battled strong wind gusts along with chilly temperatures at The Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind., site of the 2010 NCAA D-II Championship. Junior Chris Fitzpatrick finished tied for nineteenth place in the field of over ninety golfers. Fitzpatrick finished with a total score of 157 after posting an 84 in round one followed by a team low 73 in round two.
Senior Sean Campbell recorded a 161 placing him among the top half of the field with an opening round 79, followed by a second round 82. John Casey, Nick Delango and Robert Rivera rounded out the scores for the Spartans who finished with a team total 668. The Spartans will be back in action on October 11th-12th as they play in the Dominican College Charger Challenge at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, NY.
