The St. Thomas Aquinas golf team finished in 6th place in the IUP Golf Invitational. Senior Chris Fitzpatrick finished tied for 7th place with two day scores of 74 and 75. Joe Harney finished tied for 16th with a first round score of 80 followed by a team low 71 on day two.
After an 11th place finish in round one the Spartans battled back taking nine strokes off their team score to move up to 6th place to complete the event. John Casey tied for 34th with scores of 79 and 75. Nick Delango finished tied for 56th while Mike Gunderson was tied for 74th to round out the scorers for STAC.
The tournament was won by the host team IUP with a two day team score of 582. The Spartans will return to action on April 18 & 19 at the AIC Spring Invitational in Springfield, MA.
