Spartans Finish 6th in Super Regionals

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team finished in 6th place in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional being held in Wheeling, WV.  The Spartans had the best team round on day three posting a team score of 297 behind a 72 from Chris Gentle and a 73 from Kai Rastetter.

Rastetter finished tied for 10th after rounds of 76, 76 before shooting 2-over on the final day.  Thomas Linehan who posted a team low 75 on days one and two finished tied for 15th after a final round 76.  Along with Gentle, Niklas Koerner posted his best score of 76 on the final day as the Spartans tried to finish strong in an attempt to move on to the NCAA Championships. 

The Spartans finished 20 strokes off the leader, Indiana University of PA and 9 strokes away from the 3rd place finisher.  The top 3 teams advance to the NCAA Championship.  The Spartans have competed in the NCAA Championship for the past 4 years.
