Well, we didn't have the finish we needed to make match play, and my collegiate golf career has come to an end. We finished in a tie for 15th place, which I think is the best finish for STAC at the national championship. Individually Nik and I tied for 30th place in the 108 player field shooting 11 over par over the three rounds. 

This course was a significantly difficult test, which did not only challenge our physical abilities but also our mental. Unlike many golf courses, The Meadows at Grand Valley State University, did not have any holes to take a break on. Each hole and every shot required complete focus. However, this will prove to be a great learning experience for the four returning Spartans next year: Nik, Kai, Brendan, and Kevin. Watch out for them next year! 

I am very proud of this team, and all that we have accomplished. This season we had four team wins, and 5 individual medalist finishes. None of this could be possible without the constant support from Mr. Oswald and the athletic department, as well as the the professors and students alike.

It is also necessary to acknowledge and thank Dr. Fitzpatrick and Dr. Manning who have come out to cheer us on at every Super Regional and National Championship. No other school has their President and or VP present to cheer them on. I'll always remember the cheers and applauds from Dr. Fitzpatrick and Dr. Manning, it really meant a lot. And of course Coach Stephen Ferrara and Coach Tim McAleer have been incredibly supportive and great coaches to play under. 

Looking back to four years ago, I definitely made the correct decision to come to STAC. I have been able to compete at an elite level, while at the same time receive a great education. I have also made life long friends with my current and former teammates. These experiences have been great, and I'm proud to forever be a Spartan!
