Spartans Take 2nd at Mystic Rock

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team fell three strokes away from the leader to finish up in 2nd place at the Challenge at Mystic Rock hosted by the winners Cal. University of Pa.  Niklas Koerner tied for 2nd place overall shooting (-over par after three rounds.

Koerner shot: 75, 74, 76 for a total of 225 finishing four strokes behind Sean Edgar from Clarion.  Brendan Hunter, Chris Gentle and Kevin Gately shot 16, 17 and 18 over respectively to pace the Spartans.  Hunter shot a team low round of 72 on the second day and finished tied for 7th overall.

Kai Rastetter rounded out the scorers finishing tied for 33rd carding a 76 in the opening round.  STAC will return to action at the DII Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen College Columbus Day weekend.
