Fay, Kukaj & Trapp Earn 2020 Ping Golf All-East Region Honors

Division II PING All-Region honorees have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Over 100 players across eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2020.

Spartans Travis Fay, Shkelqim Kukaj and Sean Trapp were selected to the East Region Team. The trio contributed to another strong year for the Spartans, despite the 2019-2020 Spring Season having to be cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his second season in Sparkill, Travis Fay wrapped up his 2019-2020 season with a scoring average of 74.00. The senior from Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia took a first place finish at the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational to start the fall season in early September. Travis finished in the top 10 in two of five tournaments this season. Fay maintains a career average of 74.29 in 16 events.

Shkelqim Kukaj maintained a scoring average of 74.64, in his fourth year with the Spartans. The senior from Congers, NY had a second place finish at the Post University Eagles Invitational back in mid-October. Kukaj maintains a career average of 76.76 in 30 events.

Senior Sean Trapp had a very impressive 2019-2020 campaign with the Spartans, as he ended the season with a team-best 73.73 scoring average. The Janetville, Ontario Canada native had a fifth place finish at the Southern New Hampshire University Penman Fall Invitational back in late September. Trapp finished in the top 10 in three total tournaments this season.

The 2019-2020 season was largely successful for St. Thomas Aquinas College, as the Spartans finished in the top 10 in four of five events during their shortened schedule. Highlights of the year include; STAC winning the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational by three strokes over Southern New Hampshire University back in September and the Spartans taking a third place finish at the Post University Eagles Invitational in October, missing the top spot by just five strokes, as Assumption College and Le Moyne College took first and second respectively.
