Dearborn, Michigan - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Golf team opened the first round of the NCAA Division II Golf Championship on Monday at TPC Michigan. The Spartans carded a team score of 308, which is 20 over par and places them 16th among the 20-team field through 18 holes.
Sophomore Norman Viron and freshman Nolan Skaggs (75) led the team for the day and are both currently tied for 33rd place overall. Jake Yarmolowitz (77), Donte Groppuso (81) and Joe Tammaro (82) rounded out the Spartan scoring on day one.
The Spartans will tee off beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday (May 17), as second round action gets underway in Dearborn, Michigan.
