Victor, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Golf team captured its third NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional title in program history on Saturday afternoon at the Ravenwood Golf Club, advancing to the program's ninth NCAA National Championship in the last 14 years.

STAC finished the three-day regional event with a total team score of 881, which was 17 over par and two strokes ahead of second place finishers, the University of Charleston (883/+19). The Spartans never relinquished their hold on first place at any point during the tournament, leading by as much as six strokes over the UC Golden Eagles after day one and as few as one stroke following day two.

Joining St. Thomas Aquinas and Charleston at the Division II NCAA National Championship are Gannon University and Davis & Elkins College, as the top four super regional finishers now head to Dearborn, Michigan and the beautiful TPC Michigan Golf Course and Country Club. The Spartans will be looking to secure their first-ever national title, when they take to the links May 16-20.

Individually, Freshman Nolan Skaggs (72) led STAC for the regional and finished tied for second place overall, shooting a total of 216 (70, 72, 74), which was good for even par.
