Spartans Finish 5th at SNHU Penmen Invitational

Concord, N.H. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Golf team finished 5th at the Penmen Invitational hosted by Southern New Hampshire University this past weekend. During the first round, the team was led by sophomore Nolan Skaggs who fired a 2-under par 70. Newcomer Djaia Darrason put together a solid round of 75 while Donte Groppuso carded a 77. Tanner Little and Jarred Huggins both posted rounds of 78. The team's round 1 score of 300 left them in 5th place out the 15 team field.

During round two, Donte Groppuso bounced back with a stellar round of 70. Tanner Little was able to improve on his first round, carding a 75, while Djaia Darrason was able to shoot 77. Nolan Skaggs and Jarred Huggins rounded out the team scoring with rounds of 79. The Spartans round 2 score of 301 left them with a 2-day score of 601 which was good for a 5th place finish. Junior Donte Groppuso's 147 (77-70) was good for a second straight top 10 finish to start the fall season.

STAC is back in action on October 1 and 2 at the Autumn invitational hosted by Columbia University at the Lake Placid Club.
