STAC Golf Sits Atop the East, with 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship Regional Field Set

The NCAA has announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes competing as individuals that have been selected to participate in regional competition of the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. St. Thomas Aquinas College finished atop the final regular season regional rankings, released Friday, and have been selected to participate in the Atlantic/East Regional. Regional play will be conducted May 11-13 at the Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pa. and hosted by Millersville University.

After concluding the 2022 fall semester finishing first, third (twice) and fifth (twice) in five invitationals, the Spartans began their spring season with an ninth place finish at the Wingate University J. Ralph Hargett Invitational and then followed that up with a third place finish at the University of Mount Olive "The Trojan" to round out the month of March. In April, STAC took fifth at the Barry University Battle At The Shores, won its own Spartan Shootout, placed fourth in the Columbia University Roar-EE Invitational and finished as the runner up at the NCAA Regional Preview.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 22-26 at Avalon Lakes Country Club in Warren, Ohio. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year’s head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference and Avalon Lakes at The Grand Resort.

Tournaments will be conducted at four regional sites with regional pairings as follows:
