Kingston, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf program competed in an all Division I event hosted by Columbia University this past weekend at Wiltwyck Country Club in Kingston, NY. The event was contested over 36 holes in cold and windy conditions on Saturday afternoon.

During the first round of play, the team was led by Tanner Little who continued his stellar play with a 1-under par 71. Djaia Darrason and Juan Ignacio Simon were right behind Little with excellent rounds of 72. Freshman Diego Ocasio battled to shoot 74 while Nolan Skaggs rounded out the team scoring with a 76. The team's first-round score of 289 (+1) was good for 5th place out of the 13 Division I teams.

In final round of play, the Spartans showed that they could compete with the best teams in the northeast, carding an impressive team score of 283 (-5). Leading the charge was Nolan Skaggs who had a huge bounce back from his tough first round. Skaggs carded a team-low score of 67 with a back nine that included 7 birdies. Tanner Little followed up his first round with a stellar round of 70 (-2) while Djaia Darrason and Juan Ignacio Simon carded matching rounds of 73 (+1). Diego Ocasio finished the event with a round of 75.
