Spartans Stumble in Final Round; Finish Third at Post Invitational

Watertown, Conn. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Golf team finished third in their most recent event hosted by Post University at the Watertown Golf Club. On the first day of play, the team played 36 holes of continuous golf. During the opening 18 holes, junior Nolan Skaggs led the team with an impressive round of 69. Right behind Skaggs were Tanner Little and Djaia Darrason who carded rounds of 73. Rounding out the team scoring was freshman Diego Ocasio who managed to shoot 74. During the second round, Little and Ocasio led the team with matching rounds of 70. Darrason continued his solid play, carding a 72 while Skaggs fought to shoot 74. The team's opening day scores of 289-286 were good for first place after the first 36 holes.

In the final round of play, the team struggled with their games. Nolan Skaggs was the top Spartan after shooting another excellent round of 69. Diego Ocasio finished his round with 2 birdies to shoot 76 while Tanner Litttle struggled, shooting 78. Noah Barnatt bounced back from a difficult first day to round of the team scoring with a round of 79. The team's final round score of 302 dropped them 2 spots for a 3rd place finish in the 13 team field. Nolan Skaggs had his best finish of the year with 3-round score of 212 (69-74-69) good for 3rd place.

STAC wraps up its fall campaign next week at the Adelphi University Panther Invitational at the beautiful Meadowbrook Club on Long Island.
