Spartans 2nd At Adelphi University Panther Invitational

Jericho, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Golf team headed to the beautiful Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, New York for the Second Annual Adelphi University Panther Invitational. The event hosted teams from all three Divisions, including Hofstra, Farmingdale State, and Dominican University.  During the first round of play, the team struggled in the challenging conditions, shooting a team score of 319. Tanner Little was the low Spartan, shooting a 4-over 76. Djaia Darrason was the next low player carding a round of 79, while Diego Ocasio posted an 8-over score of 80. Noah Barnatt and Nolan Skaggs struggled in the windy conditions, shooting 84 and 85 respectively. The team's first-round score of 319 left them in 3rd place behind Hofstra and the host from Adelphi. 

In the second round, the team fought back nicely with 4 of 5 Spartans improving on their first rounds. Tanner Little shot a 2nd consecutive 76 for a 36-hole score of 152 good for a 3rd place finish. Diego Ocasio battled to a 2nd round score of 77, leaving him at 13-over for the event good for an 11th-place finish. Djaia Darrason also finished at 13-over for the event after carding a final round 78, while Nolan Skaggs bounced back nicely, posting a final round 76. Noah Barnatt rounded out the scoring with a final round 79. The team's 2nd round score of 307 moved them ahead of Adelphi and was good enough for a 2nd place finish behind Division I Hofstra University.

The Spartans are back in action on October 15 and 15 at the Post University Eagles Fall Invitational at Watertown Country Club in Connecticut.
