Spartans 4th Among 16 Teams At Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational

Hickory, N.C. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Golf team wrapped up their fall campaign with a 4th place finish at the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational at Lake Hickory Country Club in North Carolina.

During the first round of play, the team was led by Djaia Darrason, who carded a round of 74 (+2). Diego Ocasio and Tanner Little both managed to post rounds of 76 (+4), while Nolan Skaggs shot an opening round of 77 (+5). Newcomer Albin Falth, who shot an opening round of 79 (+7), rounded out the team scoring. The team's combined score of 303 left them in 5th place after 1 round of play.

In the second round of the event, Tanner Little improved by 2 shots, carding a score of 74. Djaia Darrason and Nolan Skaggs posted scores of 75 and 76 respectively, while Diego Ocasio and Albin Falth carded rounds of 78 and 82. The team's score of 303 dropped them down 1 place to a tie for 5th place heading into the final round of play.

During the final round of play, the team bounced back to play the best round of the tournament, firing an impressive score of 285 (-3). Diego Ocasio led the charge with a stellar round of 67 (-5). Ocasio made 6 birdies and just 1 bogey on the 17th hole. Senior Nolan Skaggs finished his fall season with a 1-under par 71 while Albin Falth played the best round of his STAC career, shooting a 73 (+1). Djaia Darrason battled all day to card a round of 74 and Tanner Little finished his tournament with a score of 76. 

The team's impressive final round moved them up 1 place to finish the event in fourth.
