Concord, N.H. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Golf team opened their 2024-2025 season at the Southern New Hampshire University Granite State Opener. The event was 54 holes of stroke play at Beaver Meadow Golf Course. In their first action of the season, the team struggled out of the gate, shooting a team score of 301. Tanner Little was the low Spartan with a stellar round of 67 (-5). Sophomore Diego Ocasio was the next low score with a round of 76. Djaia Darrason and Nolan Skaggs struggled to rounds of 79 while Noah Barnatt posted an 81.
During the second 18 of the day, the team put together a solid score of 292. Diego Ocasio carded an excellent round of 70 (-2), while Tanner Little, Nolan Skaggs and Djaia Darrason all carded rounds of 74. Noah Barnatt improved by 2 shots, posting a 79.
The Spartans posted a team score of 292 in the final round of play. Diego Ocasio led the team again with a 1-under par 71. Djaia Darrason and Nolan Skaggs were just behind him shooting rounds of 73. Tanner Little and Noah Barnatt carded rounds of 75 and 76 respectively.
The Spartan's three-round score of 885 left them in a tie for 4th place (T-6th Overall) among the Division II teams in the field.
STAC is back in action September 28-29 in Lake Placid, NY at the Columbia University Autumn Invitational.
