STAC Sits Atop The East For Second Straight Year, As 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship Regional Field Set

The NCAA has announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes competing as individuals that have been selected to participate in regional competition of the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. St. Thomas Aquinas College finished atop the final regular season regional rankings for a second straight year, released Friday, and have been selected to participate in the Atlantic/East Regional. Regional play will be conducted May 8-10 at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, Pennsylvania and hosted by Gannon University.

After concluding the 2024 fall semester finishing first (Post University Eagles Invitational), second (Adelphi University Panther Invitational), third (Columbia University Autumn Invitational), fourth (Lenoir-Rhyne University Fall Invite) and sixth (Southern New Hampshire University Granite State Opener) in five invitationals, the Spartans began their spring season with a fourth place finish at the Ohio Dominican University Pawleys Island Beach Beach and then followed that up by placing second at the West Chester University Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational, winning both the St. Thomas Aquinas Aquinas College Spartan Shootout and Columbia University Roar-EE Invitational and finally, closing regular season play with a fourth place standing at the Gannon University NCAA Atlantic/East Region Preview.

The top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 19-23 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The finals will be hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.

 

Tournaments will be conducted at four regional sites with regional pairings as follows:

Atlantic and East

Central and Midwest

South and Southeast

South Central and West
