The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to C.W. Post 79-65.  The Spartans were led by Jamie Blanchard who had 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Justin Brown added 13 points while Nick Lopez and Daniel Skinner each had 9.  

STAC opened the game on a 5-0 run behind a layup from Irin Stark and a Lopez 3-pointer.  The Pioneers put together a 9-2 run of their own to take a 9-7 lead.  Blanchard scored a three-point play to give STAC a 14-11 lead with 12:59 left in the half.  C.W. POst finished the half out strong to take a 39-30 lead into the break. 

STAC cut back into the Pioneers lead with a dunk from Blanchard to bring them within five, 41-36.  However, the Spartans would not get any closer as C.W. Post extended their lead to double digits for the final 13 minutes of action. 

The Pioneers held a 34-29 advantage on the glass.  C.W. Post were led by Tobin Carberry with 18 points and saw four players reach double figures.   

STAC will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bridgeport for a 3:00 game.
