The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to NYIT, 74-63.  Justin Brown had 18 points and 5 rebounds.  Jamie Blanchard added 16 points and 4 rebounds for STAC while Nick Lopez added 10.  Daniel Skinner had 8 points and 6 assists for the Spartans. 

Lopez hit a 3-pointer with 13:00 left in the half to bring STAC within two, 13-11.  The Spartans took a lead at 10:07 off a jumper by Brown.  The Bears used a 9-3 run late in the half to take a 37-28 lead into the break. 

The Bears expanded their lead to eighteen off a 3-pointer from Eric Rodriguez at 17:11 and held onto a double digit lead until Brown's 3-pointer at 3:19.  STAC came within seven off a layup from Skinner with under three minutes to go but did not get any closer. 

The Bears held a 38-29 rebounding edge over STAC.  Kayvon Roberts had 19 points and 8 rebounds while Dominic Scurry added 13 for NYIT. 

The Spartans will return to action on Wednesday when they host Molloy College at 7:30 p.m.
