The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to NYIT, 54-51.  Irin Stark had 13 points and 6 rebounds for STAC.  Omar Kellman added 8 points on 4-5 shooting from the field.  Jason Halloway and Nick Lopez each had 7 points.

Justin Brown drained two free throws to give STAC  their first lead of the game, 13-12 with 8:12 on the clock.  The Spartans finished the half on an 8-1 run to go into the break, 31-24.  In a back and forth second half the Spartans closed within two, 53-51 with :36 seconds remaining.  NYIT made one of two free throws to seal the victory.  STAC missed a final 3-point attempt falling, 54-51 to the Bears. 

STAC had a slight rebounding edge over NYIT, 30-29.  Kayvon Roberts had 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the Bears.  The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Molloy for a 3:00 game.
