The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to NYIT, 50-45.  Justin Brown scored 14 points while Jason Halloway added 11.  Dane Dixon had a team high 8 rebounds.

Jamie Blanchard hit two free throws to give STAC a 10-5 lead with 12:36 to go in the first half.  The Bears produced a 12-0 run to go ahead 17-10 behind a Jarrell Walker layup.  STAC closed the gap with an 8-2 run as Halloway hit a three just before the half ended to bring STAC within two, 20-18. 

The Bears extended their lead by nine behind a layup from Kayvon Roberts with 12:35 left in the game.  STAC went on a 13-4 run with less then four minutes remaining to close to a one point game at 1:42 behind a traditional three point play from Halloway.  Dominic Scurry scored for the Bears with a minute remaining and STAC was forced to foul Roberts who converted both free throws to give NYIT a five point advantage.

NYIT held a 39-26 advantage on the boards.  The Spartans will host Molloy College on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
