The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost at home to Molloy, 68-51. The Spartans received 13 points each from Jamie Blanchard and Jason Halloway. Blanchard added 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Kadeem King had 8 points with 2-5 shooting from behind the arc.
Molloy got off to a 17-1 start in the opening five minutes of play. The Lions took a 36-16 lead into the break behind 11 points and 3 steals from Jimmy Nolan. Nolan finished with a game high 18 points, 5 steals and 4 assists. Blanchard had 8 of STAC's 16 first half points as STAC struggled from the floor shooting 4-20.
The Spartans struggle to cut into the Lions lead in the second half. Halloway hit his third three pointer and STAC's final basket of the night at the 1:12 mark to bring STAC within twelve. Molloy capitalized on their final three trips to the line shooting 5-6. Daniel Skinner added 6 points and 6 assists for STAC.
The Spartans will be back in action on Wednesday at 7:30 as they host Dowling College.
