The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to Queens College, 55-40.  Jamie Blanchard and Justin Brown had 13 and 12 points respectively.  Irin Stark had 7 points for STAC while Daniel Skinner added 4 points and 6 assists.

The Spartans opened the game on a 14-4 run behind 8 points from Blanchard.  Blanchard was 6-7 from the floor for the game and grabbed 3 rebounds and 1 steal.  The Spartans took a 26-22 lead into the break with Blanchard leading the Spartans with 12. 

Dane Dixon scored a layup to give STAC a 36-34 lead at the 12 minute mark.  The Knights went on an 11-0 run to take a 45-36 lead.  A Skinner layup at 3:36 brought STAC within seven, 47-40 however they could not get any closer. 

Queens held a 32-21 lead on the glass.  Lans Lamonte and Labase Anderson each had 16 points for the Knights.  Khalil McDonald had 13 points and a game high 7 rebounds.

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they travel to NYIT for a 2:00 p.m. game.
